Bad weather over Munich on August 21 forced two flights to divert to Nuremberg airport, according to a statement from the Nuremberg airport spokesperson.

One of the diverted aircraft was a Lufthansa Airbus A350-900, registered D-AIXL, arriving from Osaka. It carries a special livery marking the airline's 100th anniversary. Instead of landing in Munich as scheduled at 16:40, the jet touched down in Nuremberg. It departed again at 18:32 as flight LH743 for the short final leg to Munich, landing there at 18:58 after about 26 minutes in the air.

The second diverted flight was a Royal Air Maroc Boeing 737, registered CN-RGF, operating as flight AT822 from Casablanca. It had been due in Munich at 17:20 but landed in Nuremberg instead. After roughly 40 minutes on the ground, it departed again at 19:29 and reached Munich at 19:55.

Both diversions were attributed to poor weather conditions at Munich airport that day. The Nuremberg airport spokesperson described the arrivals as a relatively rare occurrence for the facility, pointing in particular to the special-liveried Lufthansa jet.
