Boeing names GOL CEO Celso Ferrer as Latin America president
Boeing has appointed Celso Ferrer, outgoing chief executive of Brazilian carrier GOL Linhas Aéreas, as its new president for Latin America and the Caribbean, effective September 2026.
Boeing announced on August 13, 2026 that Celso Ferrer will take over as president of its Latin America and Caribbean operations starting September 4, 2026. Ferrer currently serves as chief executive of GOL Linhas Aéreas, the Brazilian low-cost carrier owned by Abra Group, a position he has held for four years.
Ferrer began his career at GOL in 2004 as an intern and has since held several senior roles at the airline, including chief operating officer and vice president of planning. According to GOL, he is a certified pilot rated on the Boeing 737-700, 737-800 Next Generation, and 737 MAX 8.
In his new role, Boeing said Ferrer will be responsible for strengthening the company's operations, strategy, and presence across the region, while supporting growth opportunities in Latin America and the Caribbean. Dr. Brendan Nelson, president of Boeing Global, said Ferrer's more than two decades of aviation experience make him suited to address the opportunities and challenges facing the manufacturer in the region.
Ferrer said he was honored by the appointment and looked forward to the new chapter of his career during what he described as a period of expansion for Boeing in the region.
Ferrer succeeds Landon Loomis, who previously held the Latin America and Caribbean president role before moving to become president of Boeing China in October 2025.
