Boeing union urges members to accept revised contract offer

The Society of Professional Engineering Employees in Aerospace is urging its Boeing members to vote for the company's latest contract proposal. The union's Bargaining Unit Councils for its professional and technical units said the offer meets most members' needs and recommended a yes vote when balloting opens on September 24, 2026.

Boeing put forward the final proposal on September 11, 2026, after the latest round of negotiations concluded. According to the union councils, the agreement includes market-leading compensation, benefits, provisions on working time, fairness and accountability, and workforce development. Members should weigh the deal's strengths and limits against their own priorities, the professional and technical council said.

The offer includes a 10% guaranteed wage increase for all workers in the professional and technical units, effective October 16.

Members rejected a previous four-year proposal on August 21, 2026. That offer covered roughly 13,000 engineers and scientists and about 4,000 technical staff. Voting members also backed giving the union authority to call a strike if the offer did not improve significantly.

The current ballot stays open until October 4, 2026.

The union has framed the revised proposal as rebuilding relations between Boeing leadership and its members. It has also told members to assess the agreement's limitations as well as its gains before casting a vote.
