Breeze Airways has started operations at Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport, launching a route to Vero Beach, Florida, with a second service to Burlington, Vermont, due to follow.

Breeze Airways began flying from Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport on Thursday, adding the East Coast airport to its network.

The first service links Baltimore with Vero Beach, Florida, three times a week. A second route, to Burlington, Vermont, is scheduled to begin on Sunday. Both will be flown on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays with Airbus A220 aircraft.

The two destinations were announced by the carrier in June.

Breeze's founder and chief executive, David Neeleman, said in a news release that the airline intends to keep affordable travel feeling like a premium product, and that this is what it is bringing to Baltimore. The comments were carried in the company's announcement of the launch.

Breeze's network is centred mainly on the East Coast and the Midwest, where it emphasises smaller secondary markets. It also flies to destinations in the Southwest, on the West Coast, and in the Caribbean and Latin America.
