Canada to use Bombardier Global 6500 for new military radar fleet
Canada will base its next airborne early warning and control aircraft on a Bombardier Global 6500 business jet, paired with Saab radar and sensor equipment.

Canada's Department of National Defense arranged a joint-production agreement in May between Bombardier and Sweden's Saab. The deal covers a new generation of airborne early warning and control capability for the Royal Canadian Air Force.
The platform is called GlobalEye. It pairs a Bombardier Global 6500 business jet built in Canada with Saab's radar and sensor package, including Saab's Erieye Extended Range radar, a suite of sensors, and a multi-domain command and control system.
