Caracas airport aims to repair quake damage by 2027
Venezuela plans to fix part of the earthquake damage at Caracas-Maiquetía airport in the first half of 2027, with full or partial normal operations not expected in 2026.

Venezuela plans to finish part of the earthquake repairs at Caracas-Maiquetía airport in the first half of 2027, transport minister Francisco Garcês said. The work needed is extensive, he said, so the airport is not expected to return to normal operations, even partially, during 2026.
One badly damaged runway has since been fully repaired.
Since 1 September, operations have run through temporary terminals. In that setup the airport handles 49 percent of its former domestic connections and 46 percent of its international connections. Capacity is to rise to about 60 percent by the end of 2026.
