A Corendon Airlines Boeing 737 Max collided with a fire service vehicle while taxiing towards the runway at Bodensee Airport in Friedrichshafen, the airport said. The aircraft, registration TC-MKD, was operating flight XC185 to Antalya on 30 September.

One winglet was damaged in the collision. Images circulating on social media show the downward-facing section of the winglet on the left wing partly crushed. The roughly four-year-old aircraft was able to taxi back to a parking position under its own power after the impact. None of the 189 passengers on board was injured.

The authorities are investigating the occurrence. Corendon provided a replacement aircraft, and the passengers continued to Antalya with a delay of about five hours. The competent authority granted an exemption from the night flight ban for that departure. According to the airport, waiting passengers were looked after. A spokesperson said large quantities of pizza were ordered quickly and drinks brought to the waiting area.

Corendon Airlines currently flies from Friedrichshafen to Antalya on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.
