Discover Airlines will take over seven short- and medium-haul routes from Lufthansa for the 2026/2027 winter flight schedule, according to the carrier. The arrangement is described as temporary, with the routes due to return to Lufthansa by the 2027 summer schedule.

The change is linked to training and qualification requirements for cockpit crew as Discover's fleet continues to grow, the airline said.

From Frankfurt, Discover will operate flights to Copenhagen, Lyon, Prague, Stockholm and Reykjavik. The Reykjavik route will be fully taken over by the Lufthansa subsidiary, while on the other Frankfurt routes Discover will only operate select frequencies alongside Lufthansa.

From Munich, Discover will fully take over Lufthansa's routes to Belgrade and Lyon. The Belgrade route will be served 13 times per week, and Lyon 17 times per week, under Discover's operation.

No aircraft types were specified for the routes in question. The move reflects a broader pattern of Lufthansa Group shifting selected routes between its mainline and leisure units depending on operational and staffing needs.
