Discover Airlines to launch three new UK destinations in summer 2027

Discover Airlines, the short- and medium-haul subsidiary of Lufthansa, plans to expand its route network in summer 2027 with its first services to England and Scotland. The carrier will begin flying from Frankfurt to Glasgow, Bristol and Inverness, according to the airline.

The Frankfurt–Glasgow route starts on March 29, with up to six flights a week. Bristol follows on May 17 with two weekly flights. Inverness begins June 19 with a single weekly service.

From Munich, Discover will also launch flights to Glasgow starting May 16, operating up to twice weekly. Lufthansa itself previously operated that route before the switch to its subsidiary.

The airline says it will offer up to eleven weekly flights across the three new British destinations once all routes are active. Discover Airlines will use Airbus A320 aircraft on these routes, according to the airline.

The expansion is a notable step for Discover, which has largely focused on leisure-oriented long-haul and short-haul routes since its creation. Adding UK regional airports such as Bristol and Inverness alongside the larger Glasgow market points to an effort to diversify its short-haul offering beyond the traditional leisure destinations of southern Europe.

The airline gave no further details on pricing, connecting options through Frankfurt or Munich, or whether it might add further UK routes in future scheduling periods.
