Drone halts arrivals at Düsseldorf airport for about ten minutes
A private drone flying near Düsseldorf airport interrupted inbound traffic for roughly ten minutes on Saturday morning, according to police. Officers identified a 29-year-old pilot who said he was filming a private party.
Police said a private drone brought arrivals at Düsseldorf airport to a halt for about ten minutes on Saturday. The tower reported the drone at around 9:20 in the morning, roughly six kilometres from the airport and at a height of about 70 metres. It landed a few minutes later.
Police identified a 29-year-old drone pilot. He said he had used the aircraft to take pictures at a private party, and is under investigation on suspicion of violating air traffic regulations.
