A drone sighting near the northern runway shut down airspace at Berlin Brandenburg Airport for about 45 minutes on Wednesday evening, with several inbound flights diverted and delays continuing afterwards.
Berlin Brandenburg Airport halted flights on Wednesday evening after a drone was reported near its northern runway.
An airport spokesperson said the drone was reported at around 20:00. The airspace closed at 20:20 and reopened at 21:05, a shutdown of about 45 minutes, according to the spokesperson.
Several arriving flights were diverted while the airspace was closed. Departures and landings still faced delays after operations resumed.
