Duncan Aviation orders 40 Gogo Galileo HDX satellite internet systems

US maintenance and equipment specialist Duncan Aviation has placed a prepaid order for 40 Gogo Galileo HDX satellite internet systems, which Gogo describes as its largest single order from a maintenance operator this year.

Duncan Aviation has ordered 40 Gogo Galileo HDX satellite internet systems, according to the provider Gogo, which said the purchase is its largest single order from a maintenance operator so far this year.

Gogo said the order was paid in advance. The US maintenance and equipment specialist is stocking the systems in response to expected growth in demand for fast connectivity on board business aircraft.

Holding the units in stock is intended to let installation dates be matched more flexibly to the needs of aircraft owners and operators.

Gogo Galileo uses the Eutelsat OneWeb satellite network in low Earth orbit. The HDX terminal has an electronically steered antenna that is designed to be compact, light and low on power draw.

That footprint makes the system suitable for smaller business aircraft and turboprops as well as larger business jets, according to the company.
