EasyJet passengers in Italy should expect delays and cancellations on Friday, 16 October. The USB Lavoro Privato union has called a nationwide strike by the airline's flying staff, scheduled to run 24 hours, from midnight until 23:59.

The dispute concerns working conditions and pay, according to the union's call. How many flights are affected will depend on how many employees take part.

Airport staff in Pisa and Florence have announced separate strikes. Ground handling, baggage processing and other services could be disrupted there alongside flight crews.

Under Italian strike rules, certain flights must be maintained during protected windows, from 7 to 10 in the morning and from 18 to 21 in the evening.
