JetBlue began daily nonstop flights on Thursday between Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood and Alfonso Bonilla Aragón International Airport in Cali. The route is flown with Airbus A320 aircraft.

On board, the airline offers its standard main cabin, which includes free Fly-Fi high-speed internet, seatback screens with live television, and complimentary drinks and snacks.

Cali becomes JetBlue's fourth destination in Colombia. The airline already serves Cartagena and Medellín, and earlier this month it announced service between Fort Lauderdale and Barranquilla.

Latin America and the Caribbean account for about one third of the carrier's total operating capacity, according to the airline. Daniel Shurz, JetBlue's senior vice president of revenue, network and business planning, said the addition of Cali marks another milestone in the airline's growth in Colombia and gives passengers more options between the country and South Florida, with connections beyond Fort Lauderdale. He said the airline is focused on expanding in markets where it sees strong demand and room to add capacity and competition.
