EasyJet swaps single-use crew meal boxes for reusable trays

EasyJet is rolling out reusable trays for crew meals across its British and European fleet, replacing single-use cardboard boxes. The airline says the switch avoids more than 1.5 million of those packages each year.

The trays are made from food-safe plastic and were already in use in the Swiss fleet and at the Marrakesh base before the wider rollout.

EasyJet has used reusable cups and cutlery for crew meals since 2024. The trays form part of a programme to cut waste on board, which the airline says also includes digital processes for refuelling, expected to save about 600,000 sheets of paper a year.
