Egypt requests proposal for 24 more Dassault Rafale jets
Egypt has sent a request for proposal to Dassault Aviation for 24 additional Rafale fighter jets, which would expand its fleet from 54 to 78 aircraft.
Egypt has asked Dassault Aviation for 24 additional Rafale fighter jets. According to French newspaper La Tribune, the request for proposal was sent on 1 September. If a contract is signed, Egypt's Rafale fleet would rise from 54 to 78 aircraft. The possible third order is meant to modernise the Egyptian Air Force's fighter fleet, partly replacing 129 older General Dynamics F-16s of Block 15, 32, and 40 variants delivered between 1982 and 1995. No purchase contract has been signed yet.
