Embraer and Mahindra pick Nagpur as possible C-390 assembly site

The two companies have identified Nagpur as a potential location for a C-390 Millennium final assembly line in India, contingent on a government order for the medium transport aircraft.

Embraer and Mahindra have selected Nagpur as a possible site for a final assembly line for the C-390 Millennium in India. The plan depends on the Indian government choosing the C-390 under the air force's medium transport aircraft programme and placing an order.

Beyond final assembly, the proposed facility would cover systems integration, manufacturing engineering and the development of a local supply chain. Indian companies would be brought in step by step for maintenance, training and support of the aircraft.

The two firms have worked together on the C-390 since 2024 and signed a strategic cooperation agreement in October 2025. In February 2026 they also announced plans for maintenance capacity in India.
