Airbus announces several changes to its board of directors

Airbus has made a series of changes to its board of directors, including a new chair and a replacement for a departing member, with further appointments proposed for the 2027 shareholder meeting.

Airbus announced several changes to its board of directors.

René Obermann left the board on 1 October to focus on his duties at SAP. Christophe Fouquet, chief executive of ASML, takes over his seat initially. Fouquet is to stand for election to a three-year term at the shareholder meeting in April 2027.

Amparo Moraleda took over the chairmanship of the Airbus board on 1 October. Jean-Pierre Clamadieu will not stand for re-election in 2027, and Michelin chief executive Florent Menegaux is proposed as his successor.

Moraleda and former BMW chief executive Oliver Zipse intend to stand for re-election at the 2027 shareholder meeting. Mark Dunkerley takes over the chairmanship of the remuneration, nomination and governance committee and becomes lead independent director.
