Embraer hands first Praetor 600E to Flexjet

Embraer has delivered the first Praetor 600E to Flexjet, the launch customer for the super-midsize jet. Flexjet expects to take a dozen of the type during 2026.

The manufacturer unveiled the 600E in February alongside the Praetor 500E. The FAA, the European Union Aviation Safety Agency and Brazil's ANAC certified both aircraft in April, and the 500E received the same approvals in July.

In February Flexjet placed a firm order for 182 aircraft covering Praetor 600Es, 500Es and Phenom 300Es, with options on 30 more. Embraer valued the deal at as much as $7 billion. Flexjet will also be fleet launch customer for the 500E and is due to receive its first example of that midsize jet in the fourth quarter of 2026. It said it is already taking deliveries of the Phenom 300E.

Flexjet has launched an Embraer type before. It was fleet launch customer for the first-generation Praetor 500 and 600 in 2019, and previously launched the Legacy Executive in 2003, the Phenom 300 in 2010 and the Legacy 450 in 2016.

The 600E is the first certified jet fitted with Embraer's Smart Window, a 42-inch 4K OLED monitor that takes the place of part of the cabin sidewall. The screen runs on Starlink WiFi and supports video conferencing, high-resolution streaming and gaming. It can also act as a virtual window showing a real-time view from three cameras mounted outside the aircraft. Flexjet chose the optional upgrade for its first 600E.

Michael Silvestro, the Flexjet chief executive, said in a statement that the aircraft owner demographic at the company has been trending younger and that customers want the cabin to be part of the experience. He said the Smart Window would play a large part in improving how passengers spend time in the cabin.
