Embraer rolls out first C-390 for Uzbekistan air force
Embraer has shown the first of two C-390 tactical transports ordered by Uzbekistan, with delivery to Tashkent expected before year-end.
Embraer has published the first images of an initial C-390 tactical transport built for Uzbekistan. The twinjet is shown in a hangar with grey paint and Uzbekistan air force markings, and its tail carries registration UK 39010. Delivery to Tashkent is due before the end of the year, according to the manufacturer, which earlier identified Uzbekistan as the previously undisclosed buyer of two aircraft.
Fleet data from analytics firm Cirium indicates the Uzbekistan air force currently operates four Airbus Defence & Space C295s and two Ilyushin Il-76s in transport roles. The service has retired its remaining Antonov An-12s and An-26s.
The C-390's appearance for Uzbekistan follows by just over a week the Central Asian country's disclosure that it had received six Chengdu J-10CE fighters, the first from a 24-unit order.
