Emirates opens new flagship lounge at Manchester Airport

Emirates has opened a new lounge in Terminal 2 at Manchester Airport at a cost of 10 million pounds, the airline said. It is the first time the carrier has brought its latest flagship lounge concept to the United Kingdom.

The facility sits within the 1.5 billion pound transformation of Terminal 2 and includes more than 50 design changes. There are separate areas for rest, work, socialising and dining. Seating uses Italian eco-leather, and each place has wireless chargers and universal power sockets, according to the airline. The interior has parquet flooring, Rolex clocks showing global time zones and a display of artefacts.

Mohammad Mattar, Emirates divisional senior vice president of airport services, said Manchester is an important gateway in the airline's global network. The size of the investment reflects a long-term commitment to the region, he said.

Emirates currently operates three daily flights between Manchester and Dubai.
