Etihad names first Emirati female training captain
Etihad Airways has appointed Huda Al Musallami as its first Emirati female training captain, giving her responsibility for training and qualifying pilots.

Etihad Airways has promoted Huda Al Musallami to training captain. She is the first Emirati woman to hold the position at the airline. In her new role she will train pilots and oversee their qualification process.
Al Musallami has worked in aviation since 2003 and joined Etihad in 2014. According to the airline, she was promoted to captain in 2023 and qualified as a type rating instructor in 2026.
She has logged more than 10,000 flight hours over her career. She currently flies the Boeing 787 for Etihad, having previously operated the Airbus A330 and A340 as well as the Boeing 777.
Etihad announced the appointment as part of its ongoing push to expand the presence of Emirati nationals, and women in particular, within its pilot and training ranks.
