FAI launches first International Day of Air Sports on 14 October
The World Air Sports Federation has created an annual day to raise the profile of air sports, with clubs, associations and athletes invited to take part.
The World Air Sports Federation, or FAI, will hold its first International Day of Air Sports on 14 October 2026, and plans to make it an annual event on that date.
According to the federation, the aim is to bring the various air sports disciplines to wider public attention. Clubs, associations, athletes and enthusiasts can take part with competitions, open days, workshops, flying events or digital activities. Events may also be held before or after 14 October.
The FAI said the day is meant to connect the worldwide air sports community more closely and to draw more people to the different disciplines.
