Fiji Airways to launch direct flights to Western Sydney International in 2027

Fiji Airways will start direct flights between Nadi International Airport and Western Sydney International Airport on March 19, 2027. The route runs three times a week on Mondays, Fridays, and Sundays with Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft, adding more than 53,000 seats annually.

It is the first international connection for Western Sydney International. Fiji Airways Managing Director and CEO Paul Scurrah said the region has one of the largest Fijian communities outside Fiji, making the service important for family connections as well as tourism.

The Western Sydney flights will sit alongside the airline's existing twice-daily Nadi–Sydney Kingsford Smith service, bringing total capacity between Fiji and the Greater Sydney area to up to three flights per day. Fiji Airways said this is more than any other carrier on the route.

Flight FJ 991 will depart Nadi at 19:10 local time and arrive at Western Sydney at 22:55. The return flight FJ 990 will leave Western Sydney at 23:55 and land in Nadi at 04:55 the following morning.
