Flydubai launches daily Dubai–Pokhara flights, first international link for western Nepal
Flydubai began daily nonstop service between Dubai and Pokhara, giving western Nepal its first direct international connection. Pokhara is the carrier's second destination in the country after Kathmandu.
Flydubai started daily nonstop flights from Dubai to Pokhara on Friday, 25 September, according to the airline's announcement. The link is the first direct international air connection for western Nepal.
Pokhara becomes Flydubai's second destination in Nepal, after Kathmandu. The carrier now offers 35 weekly flights into the country, with Kathmandu still served four times a day.
Since it began flying to Nepal in 2009, Flydubai says it has carried more than 4.5 million passengers on the route. About 65 percent of them continued through Dubai on the networks of Flydubai and Emirates. In South Asia, the airline now serves 20 destinations with more than 380 flights a week.
