Flydubai suspends Salzburg flights and shelves Basel resumption
Flydubai is pausing its Dubai–Salzburg service for nearly three months and will not restart flights to Basel as previously planned. The carrier gave no mention of either route in its network announcement.

Flydubai is suspending flights between Dubai and Salzburg for almost three months, according to information sent to its sales partners. The Austrian route, which the carrier restarted at the end of June, will be halted from 17 September 2026 until 10 December 2026.
The Dubai-based airline has also told partners that its Basel–Dubai service will be temporarily suspended from 2 October 2026 through 30 June 2027. Flights on that route had already been paused since March and were due to resume in early October. That resumption will not now take place.
For Basel passengers, the carrier is offering rebooking onto Emirates flights to and from Zurich, alongside the usual refund and rebooking options.
In a press release issued on Monday, the airline said it was continuing to expand its route network and capacity. It noted recent launches to Aleppo, Benghazi and Bangkok, an increase in frequency to the Thai capital, and the addition of Pokhara on 23 September as its second destination in Nepal after Kathmandu. Neither Basel nor Salzburg was mentioned in that announcement.
The source does not state a reason for the two suspensions.
