Frontier expands Detroit network, adds routes formerly flown by Spirit
Frontier Airlines is adding flights from Detroit, including a new service to New York-LaGuardia, and taking over routes previously operated by Spirit Airlines.

Frontier Airlines is expanding its schedule at Detroit with routes that were previously served by Spirit Airlines. The carrier will begin flying between Detroit and New York-LaGuardia on 20 November.
During peak travel periods the service is planned daily, and three times a week at other times. Frontier now offers 15 destinations from Detroit, eleven of them former Spirit routes.
The airline is also raising frequencies to Fort Lauderdale, Tampa, Orlando and Miami. In March 2027, Frontier intends to offer 41 percent more seats from Detroit than a year earlier, according to the airline. Spirit Airlines ceased operations in early 2026.
