Ground handler AAS to keep most Vienna Airport jobs after licence loss

Airline Assistance Switzerland (AAS) has reached a cooperation agreement with new licence holder Joint Sky Services, preserving passenger handling jobs at Vienna Airport, while ramp and operations staff face uncertainty.

Airline Assistance Switzerland (AAS) will cooperate with Joint Sky Services, the new holder of the ground handling licence at Vienna Airport, according to Austrian Wings. AAS remains in existence and will take over passenger handling on behalf of Joint Sky Services. Passenger handling employees keep their existing contracts.

The future of ramp and operations staff is still open. It remains unclear whether and under what conditions they will be taken over. AAS had preemptively registered the entire workforce for termination in August after losing its handling licence.
