JetBlue began daily nonstop flights on Thursday linking Fort Lauderdale, Florida, with Cali, Colombia. The route was announced earlier this year and is flown with Airbus A320 aircraft.
Cali joins Cartagena, Medellín and Barranquilla as the airline's Colombian destinations. Flights to Barranquilla started on Oct. 1.
According to the carrier, the new service is intended to improve connections across Latin America and the Caribbean and to give Colombian travelers more access to its network in North America. Cali is the largest city in the southwest of the country.
