JetBlue operated its first flight between Fort Lauderdale and Barranquilla, Colombia, on Thursday and intends to serve the route daily with Airbus A320s. A fourth Colombian destination, Cali, is due later this month.

JetBlue flew its inaugural service between Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and Barranquilla, Colombia, on Thursday. The carrier plans to operate the route daily with Airbus A320 aircraft.
Barranquilla becomes JetBlue's third nonstop destination in Colombia, following Medellín and Cartagena. A fourth, Cali, is scheduled to launch later this month.
Daniel Shurz, the airline's senior vice president for revenue, network and enterprise planning, said in a news release that the addition gives customers another option between South Florida and Colombia, and that Fort Lauderdale continues to grow as a connecting gateway feeding Barranquilla passengers into the wider JetBlue network across the United States and beyond.
The airline first set out plans to serve Barranquilla and Cali in July. At the same time it said it would add flights to Caracas, Venezuela, but no launch date has been fixed for that service.
Barranquilla sits on Colombia's Caribbean coast, roughly 60 miles northeast of Cartagena.
