KLM's first Airbus A350-900 was handed over at the Airbus facility in Toulouse on Friday, 2 October. Registered PH-ZNA and named De Nachtwacht, it flew to Amsterdam as flight KL9860 and landed at 16:11.

The Dutch carrier has ordered 22 A350-900s, part of a joint order with Air France for 50 A350-900 and A350-1000 aircraft in total, plus options on a further 40.

Two more A350s join the KLM fleet in 2026, a third in March 2027. The type will replace the airline's Airbus A330-200 and A330-300 aircraft first, then its Boeing 777-200 ERs.
