KLM has taken delivery of its first Airbus A350-900, the airline's first latest-generation widebody, as part of its fleet renewal.

The aircraft will fly long-haul routes from Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, according to the airline, which named Toronto among the destinations. KLM says the delivery is meant to strengthen its network. Its Airbus fleet currently stands at ten A330 Family aircraft and seventeen A321neos.

The A350-900 has three classes and room for as many as 331 passengers: 34 Business Class suites with direct aisle access, 26 Premium Comfort seats and 271 Economy seats. The cabin is Airbus's Airspace interior, which the manufacturer says improves the long-haul experience for passengers and crew through better ergonomics and comfort, plus more luggage space, ambient lighting and satellite connectivity.

Airbus said the A350 Family had more than 1,620 orders from 69 customers worldwide as of the end of August 2026.
