LATAM Brasil prepares Curitiba, Brasilia and Guarulhos bases for E195-E2 maintenance

LATAM Airlines Brasil is putting in place a technical support network before its Embraer E195-E2 fleet arrives. Scheduled maintenance on the new type will be done at bases in Curitiba, Brasilia and São Paulo/Guarulhos. Preparations are due to finish by October 2026, with commercial flights starting in November.

The three facilities combined will handle up to 49 scheduled maintenance tasks per week and will employ 127 mechanics dedicated exclusively to the narrowbody. Preparations began in January and have covered recruitment, theoretical and practical training, infrastructure adjustments, and purchase of tools and specific technical equipment for the E195-E2.

Curitiba will act as the central maintenance hub for the type. The airline will be able to handle up to three aircraft there during overnight stops and complete up to 21 weekly maintenance visits. LATAM is expanding and modernising its local facilities to support that workload.

“The introduction of a new aircraft model requires preparation that begins many months before the first flight. Since January, we have been advancing training of our professionals, adaptation of facilities and preparation of specific tools and equipment. We will reach the start of E195-E2 operations in November with a maintenance structure prepared to support this new stage of our operation in Brazil,” said Alexandre Peronti, LATAM Airlines Brasil maintenance director.
