LOT Polish Airlines has joined TSA PreCheck, the US Transportation Security Administration's expedited screening programme, the carrier said. Eligible passengers flying LOT from participating US airports can use the dedicated lanes.

The programme operates at more than 200 airports. Travellers cleared for it may generally keep laptops and compliant liquids in their hand luggage and leave on belts and light jackets while passing through screening.

To use the lanes on a LOT flight, passengers need to add their Known Traveller Number to the reservation before departure. LOT says this can be done at check-in on its website, through its mobile app, or at the airport. The PreCheck indicator has to appear on the boarding pass for access to the lane.

A Known Traveller Number or enrolment does not guarantee expedited screening on every trip, the airline noted.

The arrangement covers eligible customers on LOT's US routes, which connect Poland with New York JFK, Newark, Chicago O'Hare, Los Angeles, Miami and San Francisco.
