Nesma Airlines to expand Germany and Switzerland routes for summer 2027

Egyptian carrier Nesma Airlines plans to increase capacity on flights between Hurghada and Germany and Switzerland by more than 50 percent in summer 2027, adding a new Zurich connection.

Nesma Airlines plans to significantly expand its flight offering between Hurghada, Germany and Switzerland starting in summer 2027, the airline said. Capacity on these routes is set to grow by more than 50 percent compared with current levels.

Under the plan, Hannover and Cologne/Bonn would each get four weekly flights, while Nuremberg gets three. Frankfurt is scheduled for two weekly connections, Düsseldorf for five. From Basel/Mulhouse/Freiburg, the airline plans two flights a week.

Zurich is new to the network, with two weekly flights under the expanded schedule. It's the first time Nesma has included the Swiss city among its destinations.

In total, the airline said it would offer around 160,000 seats on routes to Germany and a further 30,000 seats to Switzerland. The expanded summer program starts March 19.

The announcement points to continued demand for leisure travel between Central Europe and the Red Sea resort city of Hurghada, a popular gateway for tourists heading to Egyptian beach destinations. No further details were given on aircraft types to be used on these routes, or on ticket pricing for the new schedule.
