Pegasus names new Smartwings leadership after takeover
Smartwings has new management from 1 October, with two Pegasus executives appointed to lead the Czech carrier following its takeover by Pegasus Airlines.

Pegasus Airlines has put new leadership in place at Smartwings. The Czech carrier was taken over by Pegasus along with Czech Airlines earlier this month. Emre Pekesen became chairman of the board and Nur Karabacak finance chief on 1 October. Both come from Pegasus, where Pekesen was most recently group director of sales and network planning and Karabacak group head of budget, reporting and cost control.
Smartwings flies Boeing 737 and Airbus A320 aircraft from Czechia to destinations in Europe and beyond, according to the report.
