It is the first of up to 14 second-hand E190s that will gradually replace the Fokker 100 fleet. Commercial service is scheduled to begin in January 2027. Before entering service, the aircraft will get a modernised cabin with new seats, USB ports, and Wi-Fi for streaming entertainment. Qantas will also offer Economy Plus on the type. The E190s are primarily intended for charter flights serving the mining industry in Western Australia.
