Synhelion Plans Synthetic Fuel Plant in Morocco
Swiss company Synhelion, a Lufthansa partner, has signed a memorandum of understanding with Morocco to build a commercial-scale plant producing synthetic fuels, including jet fuel.
Synhelion has agreed with the Moroccan government to build a commercial-scale plant for renewable synthetic fuels in the southern province of Tan-Tan. The Swiss company signed a memorandum of understanding and has reserved a plot of land. It has also established a Moroccan subsidiary, Synhelion Morocco.
The planned facility would produce 100,000 tonnes of synthetic jet fuel, diesel, and gasoline per year, made from renewable energy and biogenic waste. No construction or commissioning date has been announced.
