Qatar Airways expands Starlink Wi-Fi rollout across Dreamliner fleet
Qatar Airways says it has completed Starlink satellite internet installations on all its Boeing 787-8s and put its first Starlink-equipped 787-9 into service, with the wider widebody fleet nearing full coverage by year end.

Qatar Airways says it has hit new milestones in fitting its long-haul aircraft with Starlink satellite Wi-Fi. The Doha-based carrier became the first airline in the world to operate a Starlink-equipped Boeing 787-9, which returned to commercial service on July 5 after installation work. Qatar did not say which route the aircraft is currently flying.
Installations are now complete across the airline's entire 787-8 fleet, which it put at roughly 150 aircraft. Qatar says it remains on track to equip all of its Dreamliners with Starlink by the end of the year.
The airline first picked Starlink as its inflight connectivity provider in 2023. Since then it has extended the rollout to its 777 and A350 fleets. As of August, about 83% of its widebody aircraft carry the system, according to Qatar.
Members of the carrier's Privilege Club loyalty program get Starlink connectivity free of charge, the airline said. It gave no further details on pricing for non-members, nor a full fleet completion date beyond the Dreamliner program.
