Recaro opens expanded aircraft seat plant in Poland

Recaro Aircraft Seating has expanded its plant in Świebodzin, Poland. The seat manufacturer put a double-digit million sum into the project and more than doubled the site's area, from around 10,550 square metres to more than 22,000 square metres.

Annual production capacity goes from 60,000 to 100,000 passenger seats, and the number of production lines from four to eight.

The site specialises in economy class seats and builds the R1, R2 and R3 platforms. Seat covers are also made there. Close to 660,000 passenger seats have been produced in Świebodzin so far.

More staff are expected as a result of the larger factory. Recaro plans to hire more than 200 additional employees there over the next five years.
