Red Wings has named its commercial director, Igor Ivliev, as chief executive. He succeeds Alexander Lebedev, who had held the post since June of last year. Lebedev moves to a new role at the state technology company Rostec.

Ivliev has led the company that runs Krasnoyarsk airport and held senior posts at the flag carrier Aeroflot. According to the airline, he will continue working toward its strategic goals, including bringing new Russian-built aircraft into service. Red Wings says deliveries are expected next year.

The fleet stands at 26 aircraft: 20 Yakovlev Superjet 100s, several older Tu-204 and Tu-214 airframes, and Boeing 777-200ERs the carrier has also flown.

United Aircraft has previously indicated that Red Wings is due to take import-substituted Tupolev Tu-214s in 2027. That revised twinjet was certified at the end of last year.
