Samson Sky secures $80 million to fund Switchblade flying car production

Samson Sky has secured $80 million in investment from Dubai-based Matin Group to support production of its Switchblade flying car, the company said on September 15, 2026. The funds will be used to build the first production facility for the vehicle, a 180,000-square-foot site.

The two companies have signed a Joint Investment Agreement, which they said would accelerate the Switchblade into commercial production. According to Sam Bousfield, Samson Sky's CEO and founder and the Switchblade's designer, a further $20 million still needs to be raised before full production funding is in place.

Bousfield said Matin saw the Switchblade's relevance early and that the two companies quickly reached a position of trust. The company's ambassador, former aerobatic pilot Anna V. Grebenshchikova, played a role in bringing the two organizations together, Samson Sky said.

Mustafa Matin, CEO of Matin Group, said his company partners with those willing to challenge convention and described Samson Sky as one of those rare companies. He said the investment would support efforts to redefine the future of mobility.

The Switchblade is a hybrid-electric vehicle designed to carry two people and their luggage, and it can switch between driving and flying modes in three minutes at the push of a button. Its first flight took place in November 2023.
