Manchester Airport has opened a sensory facility in Terminal 2 for passengers with autism, neurodivergence and other non-visible disabilities, offering sensory rooms and a quiet space.

A new sensory zone has opened at Manchester Airport's Terminal 2 for passengers with autism, neurodivergence, other non-visible disabilities and assistance needs. The facility, called the Sunflower Room, is available to travellers while they wait to board their flights.

The space contains two sensory rooms with interactive features alongside a quiet room. The quiet area has comfortable seating, low-level lighting and minimal stimuli.

Equipment in the rooms includes bubble tubes, infinity mirrors, light projectors and lighting that can be adjusted for brightness and colour, along with weighted, padded furniture.
