Southwest Airlines marks 15 years of donated flights for Make-A-Wish

Southwest Airlines has partnered with the Make-A-Wish Foundation for 15 years, providing roughly one million US dollars worth of air travel each year to help fulfill wishes for children with serious illnesses.
More than 70 percent of wishes granted by the foundation involve travel of some kind, according to the airline, which is why flight donations make up a significant part of the program.
To mark the anniversary, Southwest organized a trip with Make-A-Wish and Disney for a six-year-old girl named Emmie, whose wish was to visit Walt Disney World. Airline staff and fellow passengers saw her off at Denver International Airport and welcomed her again on arrival in Orlando.
The airline did not disclose further financial details of the long-running partnership beyond the annual figure. No aircraft type or specific flight route was specified in connection with the trip.
