SriLankan Airlines to add separate fuel surcharge from October 2026
SriLankan Airlines will introduce an additional fuel surcharge of 8 US dollars per sector, or 16 dollars for a round trip, from 1 October 2026, citing higher kerosene prices.
From 1 October 2026, SriLankan Airlines will apply a new fuel surcharge of 8 US dollars per sector, the carrier has told trade partners. A round trip will carry 16 US dollars in additional charges.
The charge will appear separately from the existing fuel surcharge, under the code YQI instead of the YQ code already in use. Fares in booking classes O and Q, part of the economy "Saver" fare family, are excluded from it.
The airline said higher kerosene prices are the reason for the introduction.
