Starlink Internet Now Available as Retrofit for Hawker Business Jets
Operators of Hawker 700, 800 and 900 business jets can now have Starlink high-speed internet installed through Textron Aviation service centers, following FAA approval of a supplemental type certificate.
Owners of Hawker 700, 800 and 900 business jets can now retrofit their aircraft with Starlink satellite internet. AeroMech received a supplemental type certificate from the US Federal Aviation Administration, clearing the way for installations.
Textron Aviation will offer the retrofit at its service centers in North America and select international locations. The Starlink Aviation Performance Kit delivers download speeds up to one gigabit per second and uploads up to 100 megabits per second, according to Textron. Latency is at least 20 milliseconds. The system uses low Earth orbit satellites, so connectivity works over oceans and remote areas.
