STARLUX and American launch codeshare covering 20 US destinations

STARLUX Airlines and American Airlines have put a codeshare agreement into effect. It connects STARLUX's transpacific flights with American's domestic network, and tickets for itineraries that combine both carriers are on sale now. The two airlines connect through Los Angeles and Phoenix.

Twenty US destinations fall under the initial arrangement. Travellers routing through Phoenix can reach cities that include Albuquerque, Austin, Boston and Washington Reagan National. Those routing through Los Angeles can reach New York JFK and Miami. Chicago O'Hare, Dallas/Fort Worth and Philadelphia are among eight destinations reachable through either gateway.

The codeshare builds on an interline agreement the two carriers set up in 2025. Eligible journeys can be booked on one ticket, and baggage is checked through to the final destination. Both airlines say more codeshare connections are expected.

A reciprocal frequent-flyer arrangement is in preparation. Under that agreement, mileage earning and redemption are not yet available.

STARLUX began flying between Taipei and Phoenix earlier this year, which gives the new codeshare a second US gateway alongside Los Angeles.
