Swiss Museum Marks 25 Years Since Swissair Grounding With Events
The Swiss Museum of Transport in Lucerne is holding Air & Space Days from 2 to 4 October to mark the 25th anniversary of the Swissair grounding, featuring a film, a panel with former staff, and flight displays.
The Verkehrshaus der Schweiz in Lucerne is holding its Air & Space Days from 2 to 4 October to mark 25 years since the Swissair grounding. The programme includes a screening of the film "Grounding - Die letzten Tage der Swissair" and a panel with former Swissair employees.
Former Swiss astronaut Claude Nicollier will speak about his career as a pilot, which took him to Swissair and to flight testing for Solar Impulse. Outdoors, demonstrations by the Swiss Air Force Super Puma display team, helicopter landings and model flying are planned.
The museum is also showing a cabinet exhibition on Swissair and offering insights into the processing of its historical archive.
