Swiss puts third Airbus A350 into short-haul service ahead of long-haul role
Swiss has taken delivery of its third Airbus A350-900, which flew its first short-haul sectors from Zurich on 21 September before being moved to long-haul routes.
Swiss has added a third Airbus A350-900 to its fleet, taking delivery of the aircraft around ten days before it entered service. The jet, registered HB-IFC and named Zug, arrived directly from Toulouse.
On Monday, 21 September, it operated its first short-haul flights for the Lufthansa subsidiary, flying from Zurich to Düsseldorf and back.
The new arrival joins two A350s already delivered to the carrier, named Lausanne and Delémont.
Swiss plans to deploy the aircraft on long-haul services from Zurich to Shanghai and Johannesburg.
