Thai Airways to compensate passengers hit by late-September flight disruption

Thai Airways will review compensation claims from travellers affected by delays, cancellations and delayed baggage during heavy rain and flooding in late September 2026.

Thai Airways will compensate passengers whose flights were disrupted by heavy rain and flooding at the end of September.

The airline's board approved payments for three groups: travellers on delayed flights, passengers whose flights were cancelled, and customers whose baggage arrived late. The disruption ran from 26 to 30 September 2026.

Claims are assessed case by case. Thai Airways said it will weigh the circumstances of each case, the damage actually suffered and the rules in force. It is not offering a flat payment to everyone affected.

Applications can be filed online or in person at the customer centre at the company's Bangkok headquarters.
